The looks real fluffy, But you're missing some real good dark tones. If you're working digitally with layers, try shading the cat first. Then on a separate layer do a dark layer of fur at about 30 - 50% opacity, Then adding another layer and going over it with lighter fur. I think this may help with the fur.

If you're working with paint tool sai or photoshop, you can get fur texture brushes to quicken the process even more! hope this helps!
